ABOUT HAMILTON WEST CHESS CLUB
West Hamilton has long lacked accessible chess clubs and organized chess activities for children, despite the growing interest in this timeless and intellectually rewarding game. Our goal is to help remedy this by creating a welcoming community space where young players can learn, compete, and make friends through chess.
We are excited to announce the opening of the Hamilton West Chess Club, beginning operations on June 1, 2026, in the lovely and spacious atrium of Old Dundas City Hall. We warmly welcome children aged 8 to 15 who want to learn how to play chess, improve their skills, and have fun exploring this fascinating classical game. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already knows the basics, our club will provide a fun, friendly, and supportive environment where every young player can grow and enjoy the world of chess.
